Are you unhappy with your oral health (and maybe your overall health)? You don’t have to just accept poor health and live with it. You have the power to make a difference and change your health for the better today.
But we understand: many people see so many barriers when they think about making a change. It seems impossible. We’re going to go through some of the more common objections we hear to help you overcome them and make a change for the better.
I’m Ashamed of My Teeth
For some people, poor oral health becomes a trap. You didn’t get good care in the past, leading to poor oral health, but because you have poor oral health, you’re ashamed to get care today or in the future.
There’s no reason to be ashamed. In the past, you may have had a dentist who judged you or made you feel guilty because of what you did or didn’t do for your oral health. But at Contemporary Dentistry, we won’t judge you or make you feel guilty. We just want to make you feel better. We have a welcoming staff with friendly people. They’re professionals, and they’ve seen it all. Plus, they care, and they want to help.
Don’t let shame keep you from taking the steps necessary to have a smile you’ll feel proud of.
I’m Afraid of the Dentist
Many people avoid the dentist because they’ve had a bad experience in the past. They’re afraid that future dental visits might be as bad–or worse.
Contemporary Dentistry could also be called “compassionate dentistry” because of our gentle approach to dental care. We will welcome you in and put you at ease. Many people come into our office and are surprised at how relaxed and welcome they feel.
And if you find you can’t get relaxed enough for treatment, we offer sedation dentistry to help you overcome your anxiety.
I Don’t Have Insurance
Many people are afraid of the cost of dental care, and think that because they don’t have dental insurance, they won’t be able to afford care.
But the truth is that dental insurance isn’t likely to save you money on your dental care. A recent study by the American Dental Association (ADA) found that most people pay more for dental care, overall, if they have insurance than if they work directly with their dentist. This means they have limits on what treatments they will pay for, and often waiting periods between when they’ll pay for treatments. This means that the benefit of dental insurance is limited.
Don’t assume that dental care is going to be too expensive. Come in, talk to us, and find out what treatments you need. The chances are that it’s not as expensive as you fear. And we offer financing to make it even more affordable.
It’s Too late for Me
Many people fear that their teeth are in such bad condition that it’s too late to take care of them. This isn’t the case at all. Modern dental care has advanced tremendously in recent years, and we can solve problems that didn’t used to be treatable.
And even if we can’t save your teeth, we can replace them with dental implants, which can look and function just like natural teeth. Many people who have spent a lifetime with unhealthy teeth are delighted to find how problem-free and functional implants can be.
Don’t give up until you’ve given us a try.
